🌍 Monday 25th May 2020 marks 57 years since the inauguration of the Organisation of African Unity, which was founded & set up by His Imperial Majesty, Haile Selassie I, in 1963, and is now known as the African Union.

💿 To raise awareness of & celebrate this occasion, & as an ode to work of His Imperial Majesty & the founding fathers of African Unity, roots/reggae artist Teddy Dan, out of Shashamane, Ethiopia, is releasing a brand new rendition of his classic 1994 track 'United States Of Africa'.
The mission & sentiments of this song remain as true today as they were in 1963 & 1994.

🌍 The track was originally released as the title track of his album of the same name, and in 2019, exactly 25 years later, Teddy Dan touched down at Earth Works Studio in Amsterdam, as part of his European tour with King Shiloh Soundsystem, to record some brand new music.

The new version features musicians from the studios'in-house Signal One Band dropping a stepper style to the vibe, and a Binghi instrumental version - plus dubs mixed by Jah Works & initially presented as exclusive Download for Bandcamp users. News on special-edition vinyl to be announced soon.

Originally from Jamaica, Teddy Dan got involved in music. As a youth in the UK. in the 70's he met & knew Bob Marley who encouraged him with his talents. Teddy went on to become a well known roots singer in the UK scene. Based in Oxford & London.
